Post-Publication Discussion Policy
Constructive scholarly criticism and transparent maintenance of published research.
Journal of Tax Policy, Economics, and Accounting (TAXPEDIA) recognizes post-publication discussion as an important component of academic inquiry. Evidence-based comments and constructive criticism can improve the interpretation, application, and reliability of published research.
1. Scope of Scholarly Discussion
Discussion may address methodological choices, statistical procedures, interpretation of data, regulatory references, policy implications, scholarly arguments, factual errors, or relevant findings published after an article's release. Academic disagreement is not misconduct merely because the parties reach different conclusions.
2. Submission of Comments and Concerns
Readers and researchers may contact the Editorial Office with the article title, DOI or URL, a clear description of the issue, supporting evidence, and relevant references. Comments should be scholarly, specific, respectful, and free of personal attacks.
3. Editorial Assessment and Author Response
Editors assess relevance, accuracy, significance, and professional tone. The journal may invite the original authors to respond or request independent evaluation. Editorial decisions concerning formal commentaries or responses depend on their scholarly merit and the journal's publication criteria.
4. Corrections and Expressions of Concern
Where a significant correctable error is established, the journal may issue a correction linked to the original article. Where serious reliability concerns remain unresolved, an Expression of Concern may be appropriate. Substantial errors invalidating an article may require retraction.
5. Record Integrity and Transparency
Formal editorial notices must identify affected articles, provide appropriate explanations, and remain traceable. Material changes must not be implemented through silent replacement of published scholarly records. Confidential personal, taxpayer, or commercial information must remain protected.
